Hi – re Michelle Hogg’s comment and admin’s reply on 31 May 2018, we have today found ourselves in the same situation and had to leave our Springer Spaniel dye to Rabies vaccine expiry. We are heartbroken as I know she will not cope well in Kennels. We went with the pet hotel sorted by the tunnel pet check-in staff. She is at Mme Bucon, avenue de general du Gaulle, Marck. Do u have experience of this hotel and can u tell me anything about it, good or bad? we need to know if this is a good place for her as she is very timid and anxious and I know she will be fretting anyway.

Hi. If you are still in Calais take the dog out of there and take him to another one. The dog not gonna get lost for sure.
While the kennel is clean, it’s stinky and dung. The kennels are inside a cinder block building with concrete floors very dim lighting almost dark and I have not seen outside runners there.
The trouble with the concrete floor is that it absorbs all the pee and poo and although they are cleaning it it’s impossible to wash out all that and the smell is horrendous and the dog will come out stinky as that.
With no outside runners for the pets, they are inside in that dark dingy smelly building all the time. Any of the other kennels are good.

I need a little help, my friends bought me a dog as a birthday gift and they tried sending it to UK, unfortunatly it seems that there was something wrong with the papers and the driver had to leave it in Calais as he was not allowed to take it to Uk for the next 12 hours. The driver was told that he can pick up the dog the next day at 10 o’clock and they gave him a paper to bring when he returns. My question is can you guys pick up the dog instead and deliver him to me? Will they give you the dog or is it mandatory that the same person who left him there picks him up?

I have a french bulldog and he doesnt have complete vaccine ( rabies vaccine) to travel back to UK. It takes 21 days before he can go back to UK again. But i dont want to leave him for 21 days. So i was wondering how much the cost for him to stay just for 1 week and will come and pick him again. Hope to hear from you soon.
Hi. Sorry to hear you had to leave your dog at Calais. We are a transport company transporting dogs and cats between England and Europe. If the rabies vaccination lacked the 21 days we can’t do nothing either. The only choice you have is to wait and collect the dog when the time is up.
What we do is if the dog or cat had to be left in one of the kennels in Calais and their owner can’t go back to collect when time comes, they call us and we go across from the UK to collect and bring them up to London or to Stevenage where we are located, or even deliver them to their owner for extra fee depending on their location.

Thank you for the information and offer but i managed to find a kennel and time to pick up my dog in Dunkirk. I know its a bit far from Calais but I’ve done my research and found a lot of BAD REVIEWS of Kennels in Calais and i didnt feel comfortable or safe to leave my son with 4 legs of any Kennels in Calais. So, i found this place in Dunkirk (Clos des fees et de l’ours) and i am very pleased with their sevices. They really look after my booboo (the french bulldog) for 21 days. To those who had similar problem as me I highly recommend this place. To all the animal owners dont just let your animal stay on those horrible Kennels in Calais not because its near its safe. My dog was very healthy and good condition when i came to pick him up. I thought its good to share my story and hope it helps.

We have just found ourselves in a similar situation in that our UK Vet saw the dog 2 months ago but didn’t vacinate for Rabies which expired on 18th May.
We now have to leave the dog for 21 days in France whilst we come home; girls are devastated!
Would you recommend this one for your family member?

HI. On my website in the menus there is a list of kennels. The first one I would not recommend. Le Chenil. The place stinks the dog will be stinking from the first hour. The rest are OK. The nicest one is the last one the one at Dunkirk area but it is the furthest one.

Need to call them on the phone or during business hours visit their office to get the treatment. After that you have to wait 24 hours before the dog is allowed to enter the UK. Good luck and best wishes.

I would not recommend the first one on the list. Stinks when you bring your pet out of there. The rest is alright.
